Black And White Photography Portraits
Some people want grain-less, sharp black and white photography with long tonal range. I love all!! HDR images look great when they're converted to black and white. From black & white photos I can get more when converting it into HDR.
A black & white portrait always has more stature than the same image in colour. Yet again the portrait of a child is better in colour unless your focus is on the plight of the orphan, the poor or the sick. A black & white portrait of a woman forces you to concentrate on her stare as the makeup has a lesser impact. Looking into someone's eyes is a gateway into looking into their soul. Black & white portraits have this uncanny effect.
A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer.
You can shoot great portraits in a studio and with natural light. Natural light costs nothing to set up and lends itself to more creative possibilities. The only real difference is that you have to take what nature gives you at the time you decide to shoot your portraits. Key to the whole process is getting know what light is available and when.
