The Best Canon Rebel SLR Camera

If you've been considering the move into digital SLR photography, and anybody that's put up with the limitations of a simple point and shoot for more than a couple of years should be, than the Canon Rebel line of cameras should become a vital part of your lexicon. If it hasn't, then it's about to be. The Canon Rebel line of digital SLR cameras are often classified as entry level SLRs. That title, may have somewhat of a negative connotation for anyone who believes in buying quality electronics. Nothing could be further from the truth. While it's true, that Canon (or Nikon or others) have the camera models that are more than capable of stretching your budget into the many thousands of dollars, there's not necessarily a reason to do so.

Canons latest top the the line Rebel, (the t1i) due to be released to the street in May of 2009 sells for around $900 including a pretty good kit lens. While that's not cheap for the average digital camera, this is not an average digital camera. When I remember spending $1000 for my first compact digital camera like 6 years ago, I get a little queasy. This sucker is a 15.1 megapixel camera, an image sensor from the much more expensive 50D, HD (1080P / 720P) video capture, live view, dust removal, and a DIGIC 4 processor. A first time SLR buyer would be happy with this camera for a long time. Even if $900 is too steep for your budget, the nice thing, is that you can still find the older Rebel cameras going back to the XT for sale, with almost as many features, for even less money. Some used, and some new, but you can find the Rebel XT, XTi, and XSi, and XS for as low as $450 brand new.

Canon PowerShot SX20 IS Digital Camera has come over as a successor to the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS which though wasn't a great megazoom, but was known to one of the best models introduced by this brand. The SX20 IS has taken a couple of steps ahead and have aimed to deliver overall peak performance. It has delivered and has got amazing photo quality. This mobile phone has got to feature a bundle of qualities that makes it stand quite ahead competition. The new canon digital camera has got added 720p video and has retained the capability to zoom while capturing the images. Also, this mobile has got instilled with a mini HDMI connector so as to play movies on an HDTV.

It has jut a similar look like its predecessor SX10 and the SX20. The build has been kept quite sleek and handy and is very comfortable to hold as well shoot the pics. The mobile model has retained perks such as articulated LCD and the four-AA-powered operation. The phone is little heavy weighing 1.5 pounds which makes it feel like a dSLR having a big grip and gives plenty of room to hold and shoot with it. To grant ease to the photographers placing a deep indented thumb rest on its back. It is incorporated with playback, exposure compensation, as well as focus area selection buttons. Just because this camera has darker accent plastic, the labels become fantastically easy to read than on its previous model.

The camera has got a dial concentric to a four-way navigation switch setting just with the function button resting in the middle. This digital camera also has got a zoom switch that helps the photographers. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) in this camera model seems quite a lot improved than its predecessor. The digital camera looks fairly performing. The camera has a dedicated toggle between its LCD and EVF. It has a cycle through the four different display settings such as low-info LCD, low-info EVF, detailed LCD and detailed EVF. Though it makes quite tough for one to rapidly jump back and forth still the camera has got the best of all the features and is thus known to make things simplified and easier for the photographers.
