Photography Children
Capturing the perfect picture of a baby can be a challenging but rewarding task. Baby photography is often lumped under the classification of children's photography, but baby photography is an entirely different animal altogether. Children are generally easier to work with as they can be instructed, but a small baby (which for purposes of this article we will define as under one year old) has a mind of its own.
Photography is an art that can be taught to children, bearing in mind that they learn more by seeing. For starters, make a point of deciding the type of camera you intend to use, knowing that disposable ones are quite simple to use, but there happens to be an added cost when it comes to film development. On the other hand, digital cameras are quite easy to use, considering also that the photos can be developed right on your computer screen. The next step is then taking the child through the motions of knowing how to operate a camera. This can be achieved through showing the child where to press, the importance of light and things such as how to hold the camera such that the view finder is not blocked.
Showing of books of photography to your child will go a long way in helping them develop interest in the trade. For instance, you could opt to show them books of photography compiled by famous photographers, and these could even involve the use of pictures of children. Otherwise, taking the child to photography exhibitions will go quite a long way in helping them muster some photography principles. You could even for example ask the child to comment on how light and other aspects have been used to achieve various effects.
